I was sitting in my apartment on Friday night enjoying the ending of an absolute drubbing that the Twins were laying on the White Sox. I was on cloud nine, drink in hand, high-fiving my wife as the Twins just kept scoring...fast-forward to Sunday afternoon, the Twins had already lost Saturday's game but I was confident that they could win the rubber-game and salvage the series. No dice. Buehrle was dealing, only allowed a run through 6 1/3rd innings, Twins lost the game and the series and now I'm down again, wondering if my team is good enough to make it to the playoffs this year, already questioning, after only a week of the season, if the offense is going to be able to score consistently and whether the pitching staff will be as good as it was last year. The roller-coaster ride has begun.
On a side note, just to show that I don't just watch the Twins, did anyone see Reed Johnson's catch to rob Prince Fielder of a grand slam last night, it was a beauty.
Twins are good enough to make it. I'm standing by my prediction as them as AL Central champs.
ReplyDeleteI think I made my voice a bit hoarse after watching "Pub-face Reed" rob Fielder of the GS. Twins have had a rough start, don't give up on them yet!
ReplyDeleteThat was a pretty sick catch. I'm just glad I didn't need that homer for fantasy purposes.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't quite as spectacular as his catch in Washington last year, but it was right up there.
