His line on the season is now 8.2 IP, 2R, 2ER, 3BB, 10Ks.
Obviously its a small sample size, but that's a great K/BB ratio, and you have to love a K/9 over 10. How Jeff Niemann deserves a spot over him in Tampa's rotation, I have no clue.
Oh yeah, this is why:
It's all about his contract, the Rays say they don't want to "move him along too quickly" but clearly he's ready and able and there are definitely contact ramifications on the horizon that they are concerned about.
