For the most part, teams have 2-3 days off per month, if I am not mistaken.

That being said, how would it makes any diffence to have 15 in the AL and 15 in the NL. That would mean that 1 team would sit out for 2 days every month, right? As long as the series alternated between 3 and 4 game series, you could time them so that there could be 15 and 15.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-652377080594581288.post-83047332175611050222010-05-05T22:05:56.506-04:002010-05-05T22:05:56.506-04:00Myjah, love the name of your blog.Myjah, love the name of your blog.Adam Kruegerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12460938738580518447noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-652377080594581288.post-18898588053465852952010-05-05T15:57:44.064-04:002010-05-05T15:57:44.064-04:00honestly that didn't even cross my mind. quite...honestly that didn't even cross my mind. quite the oversight. i don't think year-round interleague is a bad thing either, but yeah, i get it now.Matt Larsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10684567412348454535noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-652377080594581288.post-23148730036680845622010-05-05T13:34:26.781-04:002010-05-05T13:34:26.781-04:00SO GLAD someone pointed out the obvious before I g...SO GLAD someone pointed out the obvious before I got the chance to. The whole reason the NL central has 6 teams and the AL west has 4 is because there needs to be an even number of teams in each league. See, it takes two baseball teams to put on a baseball game. If both leagues had an odd number of teams, that means that EVERYDAY either (A) a team in each league has to sit (huge revenue loss for the game), OR (B) there has to be at least one inter-league game (at which point things would become so muddled baseball might as well scrap the leagues and divisions all together). It really is not just an accident that the NL central has 6 teams and the AL west has 4...myjahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11663674071797278704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-652377080594581288.post-40241200488256815312010-05-05T12:12:36.529-04:002010-05-05T12:12:36.529-04:00you're saying that means the AL and NL both ha...you're saying that means the AL and NL both have 15 teams? how does that result in more interleague?Matt Larsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10684567412348454535noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-652377080594581288.post-29614839017475114912010-05-04T18:34:22.322-04:002010-05-04T18:34:22.322-04:00only problem is that means an uneven number of tea...only problem is that means an uneven number of teams in each division and hence interleague games happening year 'round.
